64 Lines of Emotion

64 Lines of Emotion

A Poem by Ethan Talby

I love you so much, baby
That it's driving me insane
And even though I'm going crazy
I'll love you for all my days
I'm so sad that you left me
We're both crying through the night
As I remember the days you held me
And everything was alright
Then our stress was rising
From pressure from our peers
We vented it by fighting
Ending with regret and tears
I felt the world's weight on my shoulders
As you blamed me for your jealousy
I'm sorry for the things I told her
But they were full of sincerity
You know you're my only woman
I need you in my life
Who else would understand
All my strife?
I'm not trying to contradict you
I just state what's on my mind
I hate these conflicts with you
Making us so unkind
Who cares what people think
When our clothes don't match?
All that matters is that our hearts sing
Knowing we're a catch
If you're the immovable object
I'm the unstoppable force
You make me smaller than a hobbit
When you show no remorse
I know I'm difficult
And make you feel trapped
But don't you wonder when I'm cut
Why I ever snapped?
I've apologized for hurting you
But you never said it back
I was wrong for burning you
But you were just as bad
I'm not blaming you for anything
This s**t is just a joint venture
I need to vent so many things
And you need to vent yours
Would you rather I steam on someone else
When you're one of my best friends?
Can't you see I need your help
With this stress I need you mend?
You know you calm me down
When I held you close
You tell me so much when you frown
Everything feels cold
I live off your smile
And when you're laughing and giggling
You've got so much style
No wonder I'm embarrassing
These words could go on forever
But these pages cannot
You made me so much better
But you left my soul to rot
I took you when you were burnt
And gave you a place to rest
You couldn't handle me at my worse
You don't deserve me at my best
