Cocoon

Cocoon

A Poem by Ethan Talby

I once knew a girl
As powerful as the sea
Always on the move
Lacking the soul to be
Truly unique and fresh
Choosing to instead leave

Back Into Her Cocoon
You left too soon
The air is filled with gloom
When you lie in your cocoon

I once knew this boy
Quieter than Christmas Eve
Yet he had expression
Whenever meeting Steve
But that did end
Never to be a queen

Back Into His Cocoon
You left too soon
The air is filled with gloom
When you lie in your cocoon

I once knew this hermit
Though he's never been seen
When it comes to the outside world
He's never really been
Then one day he embraced the sun
But it was too much and he did bleed

Back Into His Cocoon
You left too soon
The air is filled with gloom
When you lie in your cocoon

I once knew this cat
Raised between the seams
Falling asleep in her master's arms
Having outdoor dreams
But she would fall ill
If she went out to be free

Back Into Her Cocoon
You left too soon
The air is filled with gloom
When you lie in your cocoon
