Circle of Hate

Circle of Hate

A Poem by Ethan Talby

Have you ever been pushed before
To the point where your body feels worn out and sore?
Have you ever wanted to just attack back
And go to your foes home with a spiked bat?
Well if you have you've put yourself in an ouroboros
Which is a self-eating snake that is eternally continuous
But you got to split that snake apart
And find yourself a new start.
I know I might be slightly vague
And making myself seem like a sage
But I'm not. I can only perceive
Something some can't believe.
Now shut up and don't debate
As I talk about the circle of hate.
You attack him, he attacks you.
Repeat and blood turns to red from blue.
That means someone's blood has been spilt
And you've left only sorrow and guilt.
See, what you should have done is forgive and forget
And talk things over the next time you met.
You should have dropped your sword and shield
And talk about how you feel.
Now sometimes this plan just won't work.
Soon you'd find your friends and family hurt.
This is the point when you stand up for yourself.
Just you and him; no help.
As you clash you negate
And that's how you end the circle of hate.

Good poem. Try breaking this rhyming pattern and let it flow more freely. :)
