Liberty, Life, and Love

Liberty, Life, and Love

A Poem by Ethan Talby

I want to lay on a cloud
Where it's devoid of all sound
I want to reach the stars
But my reach can't go that far
I want to feel the wind on my face
As I wander from place to place
I want to feel free again
Then my dream, it did end

Is this how my life's going to be?
No happiness, no glee?
Limited to only what we see?

I want to stand in the rain
Till I feel no more pain
I want to stare at the sun
Till my vision dwindles to none
I want to hear my heart beat
As the pavement burns my feet
I want to live again
Then my time, it did end

Is this how my life's going to be?
No happiness, no glee?
Limited to only what we see?

I want my woman
So that I can hold her hand
I want to hold her close
But the moment never froze
I want to stop her crying
Nothing works, but I keep trying
I want to love again
Then my reality shattered, the end

Is this how my life's going to be?
No happiness, no glee?
Limited to only what we see?

Life is hard and difficult to understand. I could feel the pain of living and your disappointment in your words. Your description told a complete story. It is hard but we need to look above the s**t and find some pleasure in a life. A excellent poem.
