Endless

Endless

A Poem by Ethan Talby
"

A tale of 7 people so as to give insight into philosophy, religion, and psychology

"

The blind hermit wanders through time

Waiting for a chime

So he can point out

That we're all in a roundabout

With many a lane

In the pouring rain

But we're all stuck in the spin

Curious about the fin

All the while he reads his log

In the dark and real fog

With blind eyes that can only see

What is, was, and will be

He then begins to take a rest

Before he meets with the Endless

The goth girl stares with a smile

While holding her key of the Nile

With her eye of the Moon

That brings all but gloom

As it welcomes the newborn

And later removes the soul from what it has worn

She is content with what's gone

For what it will spawn

On the deadly hour

Like a blooming flower

given life's water

By a martyr

Her presence becomes illuminous

As she reaches the Endless

The daydreamer sits at the top of his castle

Not wanting a single hassle

As he looks down at the travesty

That is his shifting tapestry

Which is filled of former thought

That can never be bought

Cain and Abel fight despite solidarity

Eve matures as the mother of humanity

Lucian is put in charge

While the gargoyles are staying large

And Matthew keeps an eye

Oh those that go by

And then the king feels the weight

Of the duty at his gate

And as Morpheus begins to falter

Daniel is given his sacred alter

Which puts him in an awkward position

That requires a difficult decision

And even though he is very different

He is just as reverent

Daniel wears a shade of white

Doing more that is right

His eyes glimmer upon the land

Which knows him as a sandman

Even though what they see isn't real

It still causes them to feel

Daniel starts to be restless

As he must awake for the Endless

The prodigal follows the train track

Never to turn back

And leave those he called family

Because of the bombs falling steadily

He can't take the weight of those falling

No matter how much they are calling

He shuts his ears and becomes brazen

Even though he is cleanly shaven

So that he can be creative

Making his job quite debative

Because he creates true art

Without being very smart

Brother is still aimless

Yet he continues to evade the Endless

The cruel temptress breaks the heart

Before it even starts

By preparing her words of war

Which have never lost before

She toys with others for fun

Never to be done

Or even gratified

Because she'll never be satisfied

With the pain she brought

That was never sought

Yet she always prevails

In whatever she entails

she brings forth mostly mess

And that's why she is at the Endless

The smart and shy one speaks few

words that aren't new

For she is in dread

That she will instead

Bring only more harm

Yet there is no need for alarm

Because her voice is a rope

To grapple hope

That others lack

For their slack

Is a reminder

To mind her

She digs into her epidermal dress

To quicker get to the Endless

The wild child changes from day to day

Because she never wants so stay

In one place too long

She's doing nothing wrong

When her eyes are still

Against her will

To be crazy

For she is not lazy

She was once the sun

But that's good and done

Because of the drama

That everyone defines as trauma

She pushes the bounds of consciousness

To better understand the Endless

Now you need to write a story. You create seven characters. Could be a outstanding story. I like the poem and the description of each person. Thank you.
