Sad Eyed Man

Sad Eyed Man

A Poem by Ethan Talby
"

This is to the girl that broke my heart.

"

You threw me to the floor

To clean up your mess

You knew I was poor

I might as well have lived in a nest

I gave you my heart

You gave me your brain

You said we should part

And brought forth all my pain

Because I'm a Sad Eyed Man

Wandering through nowhere land

Cause I'm a Sad Eyed Man

Pulling out your kirpan

I was kicking

While you just lay

I was running

While you only stay

I wanted a bonfire

You wanted a flame

You lifted me higher

And then came all the blame

Because I'm a Sad Eyed Man

Wondering through nowhere land

Cause I'm a Sad Eyed Man

Pulling out your kirpan

I begged at your feet

You spit in my face

We will never meet

Staying in our own place

You showed no remorse

Only your spine

You are like the force

That just won't leave my mind

Because I'm a Sad Eyed Man

Wondering through nowhere land

Cause I'm a Sad Eyed Man

Pulling out your kirpan

A kirpan is a religious knife except instead of being a symbol of war, it is a symbol of peace.

Poem is amazing. Your detail and description made the poem come alive. So many strong lines in the poem. You even taught me a new word. Some people in life like to drag people down and laugh. They need to be alone. A excellent poem.
