Rabbit Run

Rabbit Run

A Poem by Ethan Talby

We are one mind, used to be two

We were two idiots, now one fool

My love is overflowing, even in a pool

We are as eternal as morining dew

The policeman says we can't be

It's not our fault he can't feel

So we asked the priest to seal the deal

But we didn't believe in the Last Meal

There is a window between us made out of bricks

But we don't want anything there, not straws or sticks

We are stuck in an old factory mix

We begin to blend, but the factory owner tries to give us the fix

We frantically look for a place to be alone

You get into a fight with a guy like Stallone

When the war is done we are left to roam

We find some feathers and begin to moan

Two years later, we got another two

What are two idiots will soon be two fools

Our only form of transportation is a broken mule

Now we know what it feels like to be in rule

We look for more feathers and fun

But out in the yard are only knives and guns

We hide in the plaid looking like a couple of nuns

Jumping Jack Flash looks and says "Run Rabbits! Run!"
