These Tired Eyes

These Tired Eyes

A Poem by Ethan Talby

As you bring hope to these tired eyes

Which wait beneath the stary sky

And then when you are good and gone

These eyes wait for you like the dawn

As these tired eyes share your gaze

Which search your soul like a maze

And then when you hold me tight

These eyes see everything clear and right

As these tired eyes fog with fear

Which know that you are not near

And then when you are done with books

These eyes give you all it's happy looks

As these tired eyes begin to close

Which have seen all your highs and lows

And then when you're between here and there

These eyes see you everywhere

As you bring more hope to these tired eyes

Which take all your truth and lies

And then when you and I meet

My heart skips a beat

Great flow, it's like your floating along as you read this. Nothing harsh or out of place. If you added or deleted a line in this poem it just might make it worse. I like how you repeat "these tired eyes." It doesn't get tiresome, makes you wonder a bit. I really like this. Keep writing.
