Chapter 1

Ivy POV

Nobody cares. Nobody at all. Not a single thing I say matters to them. I’m just here for show.

I sat in my room. I thought about my family, my position and this school. Everything is going to end soon. I sighed.

“Ivy,” my mom opened the door to my room. She saw me staring blankly on the floor. “Are you ok?”

“I’m fine, mom,” I smiled. I didn’t bother faking it. They can’t see through me at all.

“Well, if there’s anything troubling you, tell me. I AM your mother.” She looked as if she sympathized with me. “Anyways, your father wanted me to tell you that there’s going to be new students coming next week and you will be in charge of them, is that ok with you?”

I put some thought into it. “Ok. Tell him I’ll do it,”

“That’s a good girl,” she kissed my forehead and left the room.

That’s right I was only a tool. I had always been the perfect daughter; I obeyed my parents and did everything I was told. I had perfect grades; I was the school’s role model. But I’m going to break that. I don’t care. I don’t care if I’m Ivy Daniella Raven, the headmaster’s daughter. I’m going to stop my father. Why? Because I know it’s the right thing to do.

Via POV

This was it. This was my end. It was way beyond my embarrassment. “Olivia and Damon Noelle, please proceed to the principal’s office. IMMEDIATELY.” The ‘immediately’ there sounded like a death sentence.

“Oh my, Via’s been a bad girl,” my classmate Jim warned. I rolled my eyes. As far as I’m concerned I’ve never done anything ‘so bad’. And more importantly I’ve never done anything horrible that would cause my name to be called out along with my brother.

“I’m so jealous. I want to be called out with Damon too!” girls squealed. I ignored their comments. They were wasting their time. As much as my brother flirted a lot, he wouldn’t hang out with your lot.

“Speak of the devil,” the boys said. My brother stood at the doorway. His uniform was disarranged. I guess he got into a fight again. I stood from my seat and got out of the classroom.

“Did you do anything?” Damon asked me as soon as we started walking.

“You’re asking me? What happened to you?” I shot back.

He shrugged. “Nothing much.” He kept his hands in his pocket. On the way to the principal’s office, we didn’t talk. Even if we are siblings, we have this kind of relationship. This is usually the reason why people don’t even consider as siblings; all the more twins.

Let me explain. I am Olivia Noelle and this person beside me is my twin brother, Damon Noelle. We were born on the same date and were born 16 minutes apart, me as the older twin. We have the same hair color (light ash brown), same eye color (light brown) but we were raised differently.

I was raised by my mother’s maids and I was homeschooled until I was in middle school. That’s mainly the reason why I don’t have any friends and it’s also the reason why my classmates treat me differently. My brother was raised by my uncle. He went to a normal school unlike I did. And because it was our spoiled uncle, my brother turned out like this. If you’re wondering why our parents didn’t raise us themselves was because our mom died after giving birth to our younger sister Lisa and our dad usually works overseas and doesn’t go home most of the time.

Once we opened the door to the principal’s office, we were greeted by the principal himself, our father (what was he doing here??), and 2 unfamiliar faces.

“Now that you are here, I’d like to inform you that both of you will be permanently dropped out from this school,” the principal told us. My brother and I were shocked. We only spent two months here and they’re already kicking us out. I looked at the principal’s face. It was strained as if it was trying not to show any other emotion. I couldn’t tell what it is but there was just something not right here. Then he spoke again. “the reason for this is because your father requested it. You will be transferring to Crimson High School immediately.”

“Immediately? You’re saying right now?” I suddenly said. “I thought you were smart,” my brother murmured. I elbowed him in the ribs. “But class isn’t over. How-?”

My father coughed. “Olivia, enough.” He ordered. I straightened right up.

“You can go back to your classes and take your things. These two will accompany you,” he referred to the two people we saw earlier. “Afterwards, you will meet your father in the parking lot and he will go with your to Crimson High. You may go now.” The principal said. Isn’t this too fast? But there’s nothing to be expected of father. He doesn’t consult us when he’s supposed to. I usually thought that he hates all of his children. I don’t just think that; I know it’s true. He probably thinks we’re the reason why mom died.

My brother and I looked at each other and silently left the room. Those two persons also followed us out. When I got to my class it was silent even the teacher stopped discussing. I got my things. Once I went out the whole class cheered. It hurt so much. I wiped a tear off. I know I didn’t get to know them well but I also know that I didn’t treat them badly to deserve this. I met with my father and brother right after. Damon patted me on the shoulder. Dad gave us a harsh order to get in.

“You should be proud. You were admitted to that school. Ha!” he said as soon as we started moving.

“We’ve never even heard of this school,” I said sitting back.

“Doesn’t matter to me,” those words caught us. My brother who was just staring outside glared at him. “If it brings me any good, the better.” I can’t even believe I came from him! I wanted to yell at him but I just couldn’t.

“What about Lisa?” I asked desperately hoping for a nice answer.

“I sent her off to boarding school,” I sighed. Typical dad. Damon however took it the wrong way. I punched his arm.

“Would you kids keep quiet? It’s already hard enough to be here,” he closed the space that allowed any noise from here to his seat. That made me feel better.

“What’s wrong with you? You’re just going to let him do that? No wonder we don’t get along,” he said.

“Cut that out. Just think about this for a minute. She’s better off in a boarding school than in a house with him. At least she’s better off than we are,” I looked down. “But why do you think we have to be shipped off now?”

“I don’t know. But it’s sure going to give us quality time, sis,” he smiled at me.

I gave him a light slap. “He should have at least told us earlier. But he’s always like that!”

“We’ll just need to hope for the best,” he told me. He turned and faced the window. And we have that silence happening again. I just wished some things would change though. And I wished I had a much better father.

The ride took us days. But finally we made it to the school. I sighed. This was it. There was an endless wall and it sure covered a lot of ground. We stopped in front of this wall. The road ended here. “What a weird place,”

Without any warning the ground shook. It wasn’t that tremendous of a shake though. A line appeared between the walls and it separated. There were three rows of these walls. It made me wonder how long it took to build this. When it stopped the car went inside. But it stopped again. This time there was a sign that only students can enter. We got out of the car and took our luggage. How it got there was this: all our things were already packed by our helpers before we even agreed to going to this school but there was no helping it. The car left immediately; it was always without a goodbye.

The gates automatically opened. We walked in. The gates then closed after. A girl and a boy came out and greeted us. The girl was pretty. She had straight black hair that reached her back. She had a good figure. She wore what I suspected to be their school uniform. She wore a black uniform with red knee socks. The boy looked ordinary and wore a green polo with a beige tie.

The girl bowed down and greeted us warmly. “We will be your guides for today. He is Nathaniel Gorund. I am Ivy Daniella Raven. And we welcome you to Crimson High School.”
