Regrets

A Poem by I guess I'll never know...
"

Another poem about my characters...

"

She could have told him nicely
With caring sympathy
She could have simply told him,
"You're not the one for me."

She could have fixed his heart when
She threw it to the ground
She could have told him nicely;
He still won't make a sound.

She could have held her feelings back
When she slammed shut the door
She could have hugged him and told him
"I wish I could do more."

She could have written a letter,
But it would have been laced with lies
She could have helped bring forth his feelings
But this way, he'll never cry

She could have been caring and faithful
He'd be happy with her as his wife
She could have accepted his offer
But she left him there, holding the knife

She could have been blameful to herself
But then, knowing no comfort, she'd find
She could have just told him the truth there,
But she tries now to pay it no mind

He shouldn't have held on so tightly
And for her, he should feel no concern
He shouldn't have feared for her safety
When she showed him her bruises and burns

He should have just left it alone, but,
Her helplessness broke down his heart
And a fininsh may have been in order
For the ending of her new life's start

He should have stayed out, for his safety,
But her safety was all he could see
She is worried, but he tells her softly,
"You should never feel worry for me."

She shouldn't have picked up her boyfriend's gun
And she shouldn't have fired it blind
And she should have known what she was doing
But the thoughts were so quick in her mind

She could have just hit her target
But Fate's a cruel woman, though true
As he fell on his back, he was bleeding
But he whispered, "I'll always forgive you."

To start off, let me first state that I have extreme OCD when it comes to spelling and grammar mistakes. It doesn't make living in the United States an easy feat, nor does it make speaking to my frien.. more..
