Optometry

Optometrists are going to be rich in future, I can feel it. In the age of apples and computer screens, it’s so obviously true. Unless everyone suddenly decides to stop using electronics that came to be so essential to everyday life, optometrists are one day going to become dictators. I mean, look at everyone; it’s two plus two equals four. You've seen glasses, you've seen contacts, a majority of people are probably about to have eye problems, so optometrists will be dictators. I can guarantee it, plus, I’ll follow them. I wear glasses myself.

Consider this a warning to those who have those tiny phone screens. It’s inevitable that you’ll soon get glasses, or contacts, or laser surgery, or something else. So stow away that iPhone, iPad, apple product, etc. right now that I know you’re holding in your hand. It’s not that glasses are bad, or optometrists are bad dictators (don’t contradict me, have you ever met an optometrist who was also a dictator?), it’s just that who wants to be blind? Not me, not you, and yes, I got this idea from my mother.

My mom was complaining about how the Kindle is turning evil. No, no, not like the government, she just means that now they’re making it all touch screen and glowing and how it’s going to ruin my eyes and that I shouldn't get a Kindle Fire and that I should stick to those regular old kindles that gave off no light. Of course I didn't listen to her, didn't you hear me say that she’s my mother? Then she told me I should be an optometrist, not that she wanted me to be a dictator, but let’s face it, that’s just the way the world is going.

Now �" hey! No text messaging! Didn't I tell you to put away that phone? As I was saying, now you should be wondering why this essay here is an oxymoron, of how it’s on the computer screen that’s ruining your eyes. Well, considering that you’re still reading this, I guess you don’t really care about your eyes. Oh well, I guess you like the idea of optometrists that are dictators, perhaps you’d like to become one. Happy seeing, now, go ruin your eyes some more.
