The Tragedy of Beautiful Screams

The Tragedy of Beautiful Screams

A Story by Bruno Franco
"

To my psychologist, who did not gave up on me.

"

She cried a river of sorrows. Just to hear people say:

“Beautiful!”

“Inspiring!”

“The finest expression of human emotion!”

None of them understood. The most beautiful of words will not help her. Depression is not a craving for praise, but a necessity of empathy. But since the day the poets tried to make light of sadness, tragedy became a source of beauty, not a way to self reflection and personal growth.

She went to her house and said:

“They think there is a melody in my scream. And for that reason they ask me to scream again.”

People forget Romeo and Juliet died because their feelings were invalidated by society. And even today there is a right and wrong way artists express their sorrows. If the writing does not touch you, remember:

“It was an expression of my feelings not yours.”
