Nightmare

Nightmare

A Poem by A.Taylor

We forget the consequences
we neglect to think of the eternity
of guilty conscience
wicked torture
satanic death.
The nightmare
of deafening pain
where cynical sinners
struggle to repent
a life long gone
that shames them still.
No hellacious system so cruel
no judgement so sinister
as that crossover into purgatory.

A very vivid poem! I read it over a time or two to really get the meaning and power behind it. To me it is a reflection on hell? I find it very interesting. Your imagery is very good. The pace and meter fit well, it is a short poem but it contains a lot of meaning. I like the idea of "a life long gone that shames them still". Kudos on this one, very, very good!

A guilty conscience is the most wicked form of torture, one that cannot be escaped. Wonderful write!

The words were very unique and very deep. The flow worked out well, and everything is in its place. Quite true in the context of what is given. This was interesting to read, and different from my norm. I like it.

Nightmares are reality. And reality is one big scary place to live in.

Very nice. 10/10
