killing in the name of

Preachers spouting verse children don't want to hear
watching things on the news that's way beyond their years
living uncensored lives, growing numb to the fear
no education to speak of but the lessons are clear

kids run this country. on the streets and in the sand
carrying M-16s in their barely legal hands
sentenced to death as soon as they land
they march around in the name of God killing as many as they can

that "one nation under god" doesn't exist anymore
we just throw the name around like trash on the floor
shoving our ideals down their throats with barely a foot in the door
do these kids even know what their really dying for?

Everyone can please spare me the comments about not supporting the troops and being unpatriotic. I AM one of the troops. I have proudly served the US Navy for the last 6 years of my life.
