Hate

Hate

A Poem by A.Taylor

I see hate in your eyes
even when you're smiling.
I fear your presence
but not because you scare me.
You speak in a tone
of tyrannic superiority
and I despise you
for everything you are to me
and even more for what you are not.
A child is supposed to be coddled and loved
but I was corrected and ignored.
You look down upon me for what I have become
and I am this way both because of, and despite you.
That hate in your eyes is my reflection
and I know you can't stand to look.
So don't.
Don't look at hate
and hate won't look back.
I turned my back long ago
and RAN in the other direction.
You never even tried to catch up.
If you close your eyes you will see.
That hate will be gone.
Cause I'm already miles away
you're only seeing the ghost
and there's no hope of catching up now.
