A Poem by eso587

The sleeper in the valley

Lays there sadly
As he dreams of a Parisian cafe
At the turn of the century.

No I don't remember them-
The lead poisoning
The bullets
The blood in the streets
And my mother

"The horror, the horror."

The sleeper in the valley
Lays there sadly
As he joins Picasso
And the absinthe drinkers in his paintings.

"No don't go"

"No I don't want to go."
