So Far Away

So Far Away

A Poem by Elizabeth Slaght

So far away

Reality does seem

Your face a magnificent beauty

Although conceled from me

I need not see those gleeming eyes

I know that beauty

Lays on the inside

So far away

Lost in the distance

Your voice does seem

For no matter the painful miles

That seperate between

One word from that mouth

Everything serene

Every syllable serenades

My hearts contempt

So far away a gentle touch does seem

A burning pain

Created by my yearning

For one warm enbrace

Just to touch that face

And know

That oh so far away

You are as real as you seem
