Never Thought It True

Never Thought It True

A Poem by Elizabeth Slaght

Where did it start ?

And where does it end?

Is there a part,

For me to mend?

Or does this pain,

Carry through?

On this long road.

To my demise.

Because i never saw it comming

Never thought it true

Never pictured loving

Someone like you

Days are marching forward

And things are growing stronger

No word

For the nights growing longer

With you

Is that a laugh ?

That i hear.

With a gasp

We stare down the peir.

And the beauty there

Is nothing near

What i see staring at me

And as i am lost,

In the beauty of it all.

I ask you love.

Do you belive it true ?

What we cant do,

Just us two ?
