Path Of SinsA Poem by Elizabeth SlaghtHow much the pain of the wrong decisions can haunt you for years to come.
Sitting atop, Her blackend throne. Onyx crystals, Fall from her once, Alluring eyes. Shattering beneath her bare feet.
Painfuly the crystals, Begin to shed more rapid. One for each of her many sins.
In her once angelic time, She glimmered of happiness. Glowing and alive.
Now she sits here, In this desolate room. Mortified by the path she chose.
She begs for a sign.
With a flash, Of the prismatic lightning. And the deafening clash, Of the roaring thunder. Tiny clear dropletts, Plummet from the sky.
In a moments grace, She rushes to the door. Hesitant at first, She steps into the treacherous downpour.
Glimmering rain pelting her, Like thousands of sharp needles. She pleeds forgivness.
The rain fades. Laying in a pool of black, She shines For the rain erased her evil, And forgave, Her path of sins....
