Forgive Old Dreams and Drama Queens

Forgive Old Dreams and Drama Queens

A Poem by Last Lying Look

I'm one and only
You've won and are still lonely
So melt your headaches
Call them home
So watch the clock strike midnight
And starting counting all over again

Before you sleep away your life again
Sit and listen to me whisper tales
Of broken glass and beauty queens
With words slipping out of my flooded lungs
Just hear them
You can rest in them

You can't truly be happy here
Because I can tell you still haven't forgiven
The past and it's old dreams and drama queens
And the moon trusts those who never yawn
Love doesn't come in a bag or box
It's a home made project

So beautifully soft and transparent, moving over time to a place of bittersweet memories... Each line is a brilliant world unto itself. Incredible!

With words slipping out of my flooded lungs
Just hear them
You can rest in them ---- Whoa. Nice.

Love doesn't come in a bag or box
It's a homemade project -- Oh man! I wish I'd written that line! Dang. LOVE IT.

i like this poem very much.
can't find the words to analyze it right now and i'm not inclined to anyway. this little gem with its jagged edges refracts light everywhere and brilliantly. Z
