The JungleA Poem by EruditeNo man is safe from the war outside.
Let's take a trip down memory lane
To when you were gaslighting and i was insane Because i couldn't see through the lies you'd weave. I couldn't see the snakes through the bushes and leaves. Had me thinking all my problems were psychosomatic. Then I found out you were psycho. You mad huh? You fed like a tic off all my ticks and foibles, Somehow convincing me "not perfect" was "not normal." Yet, after so many stings, I'm growing immune to poison. I'm Steve Irwin, charming danger with no antivenin. And in this wild rainforest, littered with critters eager to kill, I occasionally stumble across sunlit mist Leaking past the trees, The particles of light refracting through colloids and dancing spectacularly before my eyes. This warm light, I've found is love, pouring over my life. My heart's become solar powered. © 2018 EruditeAuthor's Note
