That Which Lies BeyondA Poem by EruditeMy soul's current thoughts
The Pleiades align as I plot my great escape.
It'll be a coup de grace of the highest measure. A herring flutters ahead in this hallway of fate. Lamentations our forebears've scrawled on the walls.
I begin digging at the side with a rock hammer. Each pluck of concrete falling away is another archetypal category interdicting my actualization. I'll tunnel through this predestining stone, and shake it's dust off my feet.
And as iron sharpens iron, So will I be strengthened by thorns in my side. As a siren's call rings across a boundless sea, I hear providence singing faintly. Lo! The primordial rejuvenates me! "Go, become yourself." It beckons. "May my aphoristic teachings lend you steadfastness." © 2018 EruditeAuthor's Note
