Irreparable PiecesA Poem by AliceLike a glass, shattered. The tears of accidents, Are the tears of knowing: Things can not always be put back together, They can not always be mended. These are the tears for irreparable pieces. The electricity stopped- His mind stopped. His heart gave up, His lungs filled with air for the last time. Pieces, broken. Pieces, shattered. Diagnosis, mortality. The glass fell off the shelf. I knelt to the ground, picking up the shards. I tried to fit them back together. But my creation was a ghost. (Glass also breathes. Glass also dies.) That was the first time I understood endings. That was the first time I understood the gravity of mistakes. That was the first time I cried the tears for irreparable pieces. © 2011 AliceAuthor's Note
