Irreparable Pieces

Irreparable Pieces

A Poem by Alice

Like a glass, shattered.

The tears of accidents,

Are the tears of knowing:

Things can not always be put back together,

They can not always be mended.

These are the tears for irreparable pieces.

The electricity stopped-

His mind stopped.

His heart gave up,

His lungs filled with air for the last time.

Pieces, broken.

Pieces, shattered.

Diagnosis, mortality.

The glass fell off the shelf.

I knelt to the ground, picking up the shards.

I tried to fit them back together.

But my creation was a ghost.

(Glass also breathes.

Glass also dies.)

That was the first time I understood endings.

That was the first time I understood the gravity of mistakes.

That was the first time I cried the tears for irreparable pieces.

Very blunt and powerful writing

Your beginning is quite astounding, few writers, out of the TOO MANY, that I've read, have great style and depth to their work. You are quite good. Here is the criticism. "The electricity stopped-" to "Glass also dies.)" --> this is where you break into a new style, personally I say stick with how you were going at first. You took a very cliche and old idea of writing and brought fresh words to it. So thankyou for that:) Good Job.
