An Empire Crumbling

An Empire Crumbling

A Poem by Alice

The crumbling of an empire.

What was once a solid foundation, I now find crumbling beneath my feet.

I know that I was strong. Hold on to the pride, the feeling.

Let this pass, this time, this crumbling.

Soon we will land on our feet.

“Support me, the way you did before”

We cry to the columns, no matter the order.

We cry, yell, scream, but there is no difference-

Cursing the fall does not stop the fear of hitting the ground.

Anger at the pain.

Tumble.

Earth quakes, like at Effaces.

Gods bring you back to the beginning.

When you build up within your self,

You find that every time you ask a question-

Internally-Your ground, your world,

Is shaken.

Now-

I say it is best to stay grounded

Don’t build up at all.

Feel the safety in knowing,

The earth is where you will find the answers,

And then you wont be so afraid-

Of asking questions.
