A Poem by Alice

Finally,

I am over you.

I wake up in a good mood.

I have a smile on my face.

I can say to myself,

“I am over you”.

In sunlight hours everything is easy.

While I walk,

As I learn,

As I live,

You seem a like such a distant thought,

And sometimes not a thought at all.

Every day seems so easy without you,

But then night falls-

Then you say to me,

“Can I sleep with you tonight?”,

And how can I resist?

Your blue eyes,

Your strong arms,

Holding me

(to what I said,

"I do not love you, I do not want you").

We fall asleep,

Warm, Safe,

Happy.

I wake up in a bad mood.

You are gone again.

I can say to myself,

“I am over you”,

But I would be lying.

DON'T EDIT. I love it. Sometimes the best poems are when you just write and something beautiful appears without fussing over it. I love the way it ends.

Also, favorite lines: "You seem a like such a distant thought,
And sometimes not a thought at all."
