The FutureA Poem by Hannah MesserPoem about love and not knowing what the future holds.
The future is unclear at best,
a cloudy crystal ball. I tell you everything's okay, it's all under control. I'm sorry though, my darling girl, for I've told you a lie. I couldn't tell you, "I don't know," lest I'd damage my pride. To tell you, though, the honest truth, I'm terrified for us. If I lose you there's nothing left, my life will turn to dust. Although the future is unclear, I have to do my best. I have you now, that's all there is, can't worry about the rest.
