In The Wake Of Acid And Steel

In The Wake Of Acid And Steel

A Poem by S. A. Venus
"

a poem about the disipation of love

"

following the trail
of footsteps left behind
by escaping thoughts

an uneasy solace

rain seeping
from ducts too weary
to capture dreams

incandescent glow
of forgotten candles
mistaken for the hand
of hope

burden takes control

memories filter deep
within a failing mind
like acid through steel

just another casualty
of loves brief tenure

the bitterness of every
ill spoken word
resonates inside an echo
of fateful volcanic breath

nowhere else to turn

cruel irony of life
for my clouds to become dark
on such a clear day

Oh yes, you have captured those feelings so well. Many will relate, I'm sure of that...
including myself. However, we survive, somehow or another....life goes on and
hopefully we learn from it and not become bitter. Thank you for sharing and

You are a very talented writer. The words in this poem were amazing. I had to read the poem a few times. I could feel the pain and hurt in your words. A outstanding poem. Thank you.

A wonderful read.

I can remember reading about Wilson's love being, "cauterized," from him in 1984. I relived that mind-numbing experience when reading your poem. You're very effective.
