Curse Of The New Age Medusa

Curse Of The New Age Medusa

A Poem by S. A. Venus
"

make of it what you will

"

Sanctity destroyed with kindred thoughts
Promises of the heart interlaced with lies
Subtleties of love disgraced in an instant
Caught in a surreptitious game of deceit

Emotions twisted and blurred
A pawn for the taking
On the chess board of life
Passion truncated on a devilish whim

A puppet on strings with severed veins
Rivers of blood flowing
Mimicking the demise of love
Seduction my unknowing crime

Callous dismissal of my love overflown
Vicious denial of feelings once brewed
Foolishly shed inhibitions my mistake
Enticed by desire into your embrace

Solemn and hollow I behold the guillotine
That signals my impending fate
My trusting spirit left naked
To the unforgiving crowd

My demonic mistress grants me freedom
An irony of her vindictiveness
A pure heart full of lust for atrocity
Beware gentle men of the new age Medusa.

I have a tendency to write mostly "free verse", I have written some lyrics and they will appear on the site gradually. I don't like being defined by style anyway, I just try to convey a message or at .. more..
