Forgiven

another piece written when I was only 16.

Just us sitting there quietly

I am afraid to speak

lest the moment be spoiled

by careless words

 

Flippant and expressionless

I muse on how language

could be so inadequate

to convey my emotions

 

Yet our silence is full

of our unspoken understanding
