Easter

Easter

A Poem by erpderp

The most damage ever done to me
Was done on Easter Day
To be reborn requires death
And my ego that day was slain
Words of hatred and cruelty
Shook my already fragile psyche
Outside I could hear the birds singing
Seemingly just to spite me
It's been over four years since you took those shots
The day that your now savior rose
I still haven't mastered that parlor trick
A lost soul trying to roll away my stone
I'll think of you this Easter Day
At both our attempts at transcendence
You trying desperately to atone for your sins
While I try to accept your repentance
