Dead End

Dead End

A Poem by erpderp

you may be a shortcut
to where I want to go
lift my legs over the metal bar
walk right on through the snow
you may be nothing but
what you profess to be
a path that leads to nowhere
save cold confused misery
dead end is what you read
though i held fast to foolish hope
that through the sadomasochism
direction would start to grow
i find myself knee deep in snow
looking back i still see your sign
i knew that this was a cold dead end
but my gloves i still cast aside
i stumble forward hypothermic
i relish the biting cold
satisfactory torture of a freezing wind
let nothing but truth be told
you told me you were a dead end
but that's what I was searching for
a path of self destructive pleasure
until i could walk no more
