DemiseA Poem by Erica RossOur Reality
I wish I could say I was numb to the pain
But on the inside I can still feel the rage You can't choose what you were born into But you can find your own way And life is served cold at night But I try to keep it warm in the day I won't invade your space So why won't you let me have my way? What happens to a family that doesn't pray Their foundation starts to decay One minute you're all smiles And before you know it The love fades away We are all separated We are no longer one All I hear is fussing And the fun is long gone I wish things were different But what can one man do? If everyone is not on board It's like a detective without a clue We don't know where to start The fighting enrages my heart I just want to go away I just need a new start Maybe they will miss my absence Maybe they will realize That without everyone We are our own demise.
