Words of Greatness

Words of Greatness

A Poem by Erica Ross

The Greatest, Magnificent.
The proof and you can't go through it.
The truth and you can review it.
The chosen one and I live like I'm used to it.
When I'm eating, I'm feasting so I'm beasting
Wipe my mouth for me;
Royalty must stay clean.
I do good, but I can do better
And I'm full of riches but I can grow wealthier
Cause my path is made of gold
And you can see it dripping out of my soul
Vultures trying to capture it in a bowl.
They try to duplicate me and use it for bad
But even when I struggle, my intentions are good, so I'm just not having that.
Can you learn to love someone like me?
Cause every now and then I figure this kind of lifestyle will be the death of me
If it ain't the drugs, it's the thugs..
Hiding behind the mask of a friend
But all the while plotting to take all that I have in the end.
A paranoid mind inside of this girl.
But I put on this facade like I can take on the world.
On the inside all that I want is closure
But I push you away before I even get to know ya.
Cause eventually you all leave
But I go on through life making you believe that you'll always stay with me.
And anyone who survives the journey of loving me
You deserve to be placed high upon this throne along with me
Cause after all.. I Am the Greatest.
Magnificent.
The proof and you can't go through it
The truth and you can review it
The chosen one and I live cause I'm used to it.
