For AmyA Poem by Erica RossA dedication to Amy WinehouseI remember when I first heard Rehab I was thinking to myself, "She's a bad a*s," but I like that. And even though you were heavy on the drugs It didn't matter to me because I was in love with your songs. However, it did break my heart when I saw a documentary of you on t.v. They talked about your drug abuse, and they had to pump your stomach--full of every drug that you can think of. But I knew you'd be okay Yes Amy, I still kept the faith. You went on an hiatus So I didn't worry much I thought you were getting yourself together So I didn't put up a fuss Then one summer day, they said Amy had passed away A drug overdose, yes, it had taken Amy away Why'd you do it Amy? Why'd you let it defeat you? I know we all have troubles We all have our trials We all have our fears But we should never let them tear us down But I guess Amy couldn't hold out like the rest of us Amy let her demons get the best of her Maybe it was her stubborn ways Maybe it was an underlying pain Or maybe it was an itch that just never got fixed...... But Amy did you know how much you would be missed?
