My PrideA Poem by Erica RossFor when you are feeling unappreciated, when you know you are the greatest
When in doubt, I rely on my pride
Regaining my focus to maintain a smile It always happens like this once in a while I can no longer be lenient, therefore, I tone it down You see, I am the type of person who has zero tolerance for those who take me for granted Treat me like you're afraid to lose me, because if not, I will vanish Some may see it as being selfish, being that I can lock away my heart quick But with a heart of a gold, I'd be a fool to let the demons of others corrupt my soul Maybe I do have trust issues, I look in the mirror and think, "I can barely trust you." But at the end of the day, I do all things my way Only The Creator and I know what is best With that being said, I don't care about the rest If you don't care about my best interest Then I guess I'd have to throw those deuces To crawl back is useless, I'll prove it Just do it.
