Spirit Week

Have you ever experienced something that was so exciting? Well I have. It is our school’s Spirit Week! Spirit Week always happens during the month of March, every school year. It happens during March because March is Music education month. On Spirit Week Mr. Lawson our music teacher plans something for us to do or wear each day.

Monday

On Monday March 24^th, 2008 Mr. Lawson had all of the students wear their pajamas to school. I really liked this because I didn’t have to wake up early to get my clothes on. Another reason why I liked pajama day was because there were such a variety of pajamas. One bad thing or detriment that happened because of pajama day was that all the students were very tired because they were still in their pajamas but overall Monday was a great day.

Tuesday

On Tuesday March 25, 2008 it was sports day, and on Sports day we were all supposed to wear uniforms, jerseys, and/or sweatshirts from our favorite team. There were many different uniforms, and sweatshirts from different sports and sports teams, such as softball, football, basketball, and soccer. Some of thesports teams included 2

heTennessee Volunteers, and my favorite The Kentucky Wildcats, also known as UK.

Wednesday & Thursday

On Wednesday students dressed in red, white, and blue to show a little patriotism. I really liked this because I love my country and my favorite colors are red, white, and blue. Children all around our school Waco Elementary wore different kinds of red shirts, blue jean pants, and white socks. On Thursday students wore something supporting their school such as, T- shirts, sweatshirts, and anything to do with a Waco cardinal.

Friday

On Friday students will wear crazy hats! Hats such as baseball hat fuzzy hats, and other crazy hats. I am sure that day will bring a lot of laughter to Waco Elementary. I think this will be fun for student because wearing hats give students a way to express themselves in a unique way.

In conclusion I always look forward to spirit week from the beginning of the year till the week it is held. Spirit Week is so much fun for everyone. We really get bored having to wear regular clothes to school, and spirit week makes it so much fun because it’s just different and it’s a change.
