A Poem by Ae Pen

I can feel
the invisible walls between us
begin to thicken

And the spaces
intended for us to breathe
slowly closes
and it’s suffocating

Our notes and lyrics
began to fade,
the love and joy
became so much hate

Time tells me
to forget that you
existed
and distance tells me
not to visit every memory of you

This is too much,
too much to bear.

But is there anything else
can do?

It hurts
to see both of us
walking away
from each other
To see us miles apart
is one I can’t take

It hurts
to know
that this friendship
is over;

we are now strangers.

We left the green park
without
a single glance,

without

our

sweet

goodbyes.
