Fakers

Fakers

A Poem by DearWorld
"

so i just sorta sat down and typed the first things that came into my head...

"

My mind is tired,

Weary of this pointless conversation.

All giggles, no brain,

But that could describe either of us.

Inside I wince,

My insecurities lead me to faking,

Pretending I'm stupid so they leave me alone.

I put up with you,

I do it

Because I am lost.

Don't ask me to explain,

I have nothing to say.

Let's just talk of boys and cloths and stuff

That boring chatter that others seem to enjoy...

Or are we all just lying to each other?

Do we really not have any idea

Of who we are?

Are we all acting

Just to cover the face of our soul?

I don't know the answers

But that is why there are questions,

To seperate the seekers

From the skimmers.

Hiding behind this glimmering facade,

I cannot not help but wonder,

Though I think I know the answer,

Is this really me?

I love it. It describes a lot, and I definitly agree with you. Sometimes I wonder if all that mindless chatter is who we really are. "Are we all acting just to cover the face of our soul?" I love that line =)
