A Beach RomanceA Poem by DearWorldnot my best... but here it is...The sun is setting, Behind a purple sea, The sky is sweetly pink, It's only you and me. We both know we shouldn't be here, Not with eachother, But I laugh it off. Nothing's gonna happen, Our friendship is platonic, though also slightly not. Once we were, But now we're not, But that's ok, Just friends. I pulled of my shoes, Squidged my toes in the sand, You smile at me With a mischievious look in your eye, You shoved me into the water, I almost fell, We laughed. Wet and cold, We sat down in the grass to watch the stars awake. One by one, Peeping their pretty faces out, They spied us on the shore. We looked at eachother, You and me. We both knew what we wanted. Slowly you reached for me, I reached for you too, Your arms around me, Your mouth on mine, Our tounges danced against each other, Happy at what they had found. You reached for my shirt, You tried to pull it off, I wouldn't let you. I'm not that kind of girl. Both of us kissing the face Of the person we knew we couldn't have. We were both taken, So to speak, Each by different people, But neither of us seemed to care. So we stood there all night, Kissing each others lips But keeping our souls apart. This desire went only skin deep, mutually we agreed. We said good night to soon, Walking down the midnight beach I turned, Met your gaze across the sand, Good night. The waves rolled on and on.
