In My Perfect World

By Erin L George

In my perfect world calories would help you lose weight

And you could munch away on nachos

All night

After midnight

On demand.

There’d be only sunny days

And rain would fall only

When my tongue

Was out to play

With nature.

In my perfect world they’re be no FOX news

And the people who swear

It isn’t slanted

(Yeah, okay)

Unbiased.

It’d be perfectly normal to ride around

On lime green bikes

Speckled with pink polka dots

And glitter

Stars.

In my perfect world I’d write all day

My muse bringing me tea

Hot

No sugar

Please.

In my perfect world smoking would increase lung capacity

For longer kisses

On hot days

Under willow trees.

(F**k cancer).

In my perfect world I’d have wings

And fly with butterflies

In meadows

Where fairies

Really play.

This is brilliant.
I love the imagery, and the ideas.
What you've described, I can relate to.
I think your tone and form is flawless.

I think you have just described my ideal world too, right down to the foxes.............I'd like to put on weight! I enjoyed the honesty, images, the fairies, flying.........such a blissful thought put into words.
