More than a HouseA Poem by Erin LeeMore than a House He painted her sewing room a peach so sweet she could taste it as she quilted. Her office smelt of his sweat hugging the walls under a sign "two hearts become one." He built her a bathroom with a garden tub beside a window that flirted with stars. He saved for her sunroom and lingered behind doors watching her bask in wicker moonlight. Her garden winked at the lawn he mowed every Sunday cutting his fingers on blades. Her front porch is where she sat and dreamt of times past sipping lemonade and sunbeams. It was more than a house It was a love letter he left just for her. © 2010 Erin LeeReviews
