IfA Poem by Erin LeeIf If I was there with you tonight we'd paint the town the deepest crimson - making memories out of pocket change and stirring up the gods. A tornado would mate with a hurricane and baby horseshoe crabs would wash ashore. If I was in your arms tonight I'd squeeze you so tight the blood would rush to your head and you'd beg me to stop. The ghetto would take a bow and curtsey just before tucking a napkin in its collar and lighting a candle. If you were by my side tonight we'd love hard enough to make the neighbors blush cups pressed to the wall. The city would blink, twice and traffic would stop to watch us cross sidewalks on the lower East Side. © 2010 Erin LeeReviews
