Sharon Kinney

A Poem by Erin Lee
"

He had no idea he'd met the wrong woman.

"

Sharon Kinney

Sharon Kinney was a sociopath

who stole lives like steaks

at the supermarket,

stuffing them under her red jacket.

The only thing deeper,

brighter,

more crimson,

was the blood she washed from her fingers

painted a perfect ruby

and mocking.

A housewife who traded life

in the suburbs

for a life of crime.

Why be normal,

average,

plain,

like the women she knew

who Walter would have married?

Wasn't it Patricia

who'd stolen him from her?

Sharon has a solution

to people like Mrs. Jones.

Headlights in an empty field

stillettos poking holes into mother

Earth, like anger

aimed at a dartboard.

You don't forget locking eyes

with a woman like that

who'd rob you of moments

innocent,

simple,

and without a weapon.

She was free to kill

again.
