You (A Love Poem)

You (A Love Poem)

A Poem by Erin Lee
"

If I can't stop thinking about it, I may as well write it. ;-)

"

You

by Erin L George

Your arms are the limbs of the old willow tree

at Greeley Park, where I'd play as a child.

Sweet secret canopy

they wrapped me up and held my dreams.

You never forget

to reach

for my hand.

Your lips are chocolate candy kisses

sweet to taste, caramel.

Hazelnut iced coffee

warm from sitting out too long.

You take your coffee

with extra sugar

extra cream.

Your eyes are Cat's Eye marbles

we'd never trade for anything.

Bags of them rolling

round the playground.

You always look

me in the eyes

and hold me.
