Adverbially Adjacent

A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

Adverbially Adjacent

she was exhaustingly beautiful
i was tirelessly enthralled
we kissed till we both dropped

swooning lips slipped quietly
into a stupor

when we woke
we reignited

funny how energy
revives

with passion's inexhaustibly churning fire
as the tirelessly incessant

kindling between lovers
is accorded a spark

irrepressibly.

I really enjoy this one. I don't have anything to add or say, it's just beautiful. It would be a disgrace to it to not say anything at all.

Thank you for your very kind words,
j.
This poem is breathtakingly lovely. The images of exhaustion and enthrallment, the swooning lips, and the reviving energy of passion...it all feels so deeply personal and intimate. The language is beautiful, I like the phrase "inexhaustibly churning fire".

Such a clever idea with the scattering of adverbs sprinkled throughout the poem.
Passion like has been described is certainly desirable.
That spark is so important to keeping the flame burning brightly between two people for any length of time. Without it, the coldness just creeps in.
A very original idea and one well expressed.
