A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

Critics

several vultures

hovered over my poem

waiting to erase

the remains

    of what they declared

    a moribund thought

I love that you captured the ephemeral nature of writing and sensibility of thought. There has to be an act of faith during this tight rope act of reading and writing and communicating. We eat or destroy what is false, and we leave the true behind so that it may live. Beautiful stuff, I'm continually impressed by your diction.

Thank you for your very kind review,
j.
Dark and witty Jacob.."moribund thought" really stands out..a powerful metaphor for the fear of rejection or criticism that can come with sharing work.

I think we all fear it, even if we do not admit it.
Thank you, K.

I like that your poems always wander around real words and do not directly convey the message they want to convey, this is something I cannot do.
and my god even for such a short poem I had to look it up in a dictionary! as a non-native english speaker i am hesitant to read your poems.
Bit i love your poems, can't leave.

I appreciate you trying them out, Beren,
j.
I guess that is why they are called "Birds of prey".
At least they devoured the moribind thoughts for their survival.
Have ye a shot gun?
Lol
