Oh, no! no!
NOBODY declares ANY art lifeless!
ALL ART IS LIFE!
Art can be deliberated, deciphered, deduced.
If I spit on a piece of paper and say "ART"... it is ...well...spit on a piece of paper...But you get me.
They say Latin is a dead language but a great many doctors seem to communicate with it. Is that like a language séance? Medical necromancy? Anyway, the blue penciling editors will have out their swords to cut the first critique. After that who knows what villagers shall follow with torches and pitchforks? I adored this poem. It was short but had a succinct punch to it.

Getting back at writing shortly ... the Muse has made like a lot of snowbirds and wintered in Florida ... much to my chagrin.
LOL. I love this. I sometimes wonder what drives those whose comments are never anything but critical. Oh well, if one could please everybody they'd get bored with writing pretty damned quickly. ~Jim

There will always be critics but maybe when it’s picked clean, the poem will be easy to read by the archeologists or maybe the vultures were looking for a hidden meaning. Clever as always.

I think this is foreboding of things to come....if we don't have free speech to be able to express ourselves in different ways then we are subject to exclusions ism and authoritarian rules....i conclude by saying that the vultures are now our king and his cohorts.....little words, big thoughts!
Well done J...though i may be way off base

Never way off base...I like where you took this...thank you for your insights, my friend.

I found some humour here as well as dark and powerful imagery j. When I post poems, there is something of me always waiting for the vultures to pick the bones of my poems apart. I guess we can show our vulnerability at times, particularly with our writing.
You also on a darker note reminded me of an award winning photographer who captured vultures waiting on a starving, dying child. I have never forgotten that devastating image.
Love your work my friend. I travel in your lines.
