the hours of us

the hours of us

A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

the hours of us

in the small thicket

a life's moment happened

stinging thorns

poison ivy thoughts

touched my heart

with irrational response

I bled for days

scratching the itch of time

until clarity

let me forget

you ever happened.

Well, I have been around for awhile.
thank you, Julie,
j.
great line- "scratching the itch of time". I thought, yes, that's exactly it!! We scratch and scratch and all it does is make us remember them, rubbing the skin raw and bleeding, and the heart in pieces. There are two ways to look at those last 2 lines I think. One is that if we scratch we will forget them. The other and more subtle, is a plea, a cry and hope that we can forget them.... someday.

Another wonderful poem, Jacob. Oh, I think the only scratching we should do is on one of those lottery tickets, we need to win that money! Do you think there will ever be a lottery ticket of love?? We could sure use one of them I think.

A lottery ticket of love? I am sure I would just win 2 dollars instead.
thanks for the smile.. read more
Clearly descriptive J. Those thorns can be very difficult to remove can't they?
Hope all is well with you.

Pauline.
