A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

A few scenes borrowed from some insignificantly, very famous poets

Sandburg's fog

made a half-blind

Robert Creeley

accidentally walk into

Frost's woods.

He thought he knew whose

they were

but his horse was confused

like Emily Dickinson's

"whose heads were turned towards eternity."

If poets could be "Real Cool/ skip school/

lurk late" and strike straighter

would we even need novelists

with their Wars and separate peace,

or their great white whales

or Houses with Seven Gables?

Or broken Bell Jars

in which the author is not sure what self

she is or prefers?

If poets could "Jazz June"

would they have to "Die Soon"?

or would they "not go gentle into that good night"?

like one of the Dylans

Bob or Thomas.

I loved how the poem brought together different poetic voices and styles in a unique way, creating a sense of dialogue and exploration. Nicely done.

Yeah! You get the point!
Sometimes we want to write and be absurd.
We just love to write.
Thanks for sharing, J.

Thank you, Jim,

Thanks Jacob, for giving me the opperchancity to say once more "this is so cool, Daddy-O!" ☺️
If Sylvie only knew, the bell jar would have been a short story, but then again there might have been more to her writing catalogue.
Like one of the Dylan's is a great end line that I'm sure we'll be seeing repeated in your adoring fans writes later. (Hopefully not me though, but I'll wave to you in plagiarism court if I do!
