famous poets Sandburg's fog made a half-blind Robert Creeley accidentally walk into Frost's woods. He thought he knew whose they were but his horse was confused like Emily Dickinson's "whose heads were turned towards eternity." If poets could be "Real Cool/ skip school/ lurk late" and strike straighter would we even need novelists with their Wars and separate peace, or their great white whales or Houses with Seven Gables? Or broken Bell Jars in which the author is not sure what self she is or prefers? If poets could "Jazz June" would they have to "Die Soon"? or would they "not go gentle into that good
night"? like one of the Dylans Bob or Thomas. erin-cilberto 3/10/25 © 2025 jacob erin-cilbertoReviews
