Break-Up

Break-Up

A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

Break-up

I saw the trashman

emptying the barrel

in front of my house

and saw a discarded poem

slip out of the wastebin

screaming to be saved---

but I had already

moved on.

All of us who have written for some time know how it feels to look back at some of our earlier works and wonder how we could have written such stuff. But in many ways we are different people now.

Very different people...thank you, John,

Hi J, this title just seemed appropriate to me at this time for some reason.

It surprised me that it would be about a poem but the point was well made. Thanks.
